About Dr. Doss
Dr. Doss’s Journey as a Veterinarian started way back into his childhood, he loved and cherished pets from an early age of 6 years old when a kitten found her way to his house. He cared and fed that kitten which stayed to grow up with him well into his teenage years. That early experience with pets had left a sizable impression on him and a passion to be with and help pets whenever he gets a chance.
Dr. Doss has also loved medicine and was always fascinated by it from a very early age. He enjoyed and excelled in every Biology and Science class he went through during middle and high school. In fact, in his Sr. year of high school and 1st year in college, he thought for sure he is going to medical school. When time came to decide on a career of a lifetime, he quickly realized that his love and compassion for animals is not going to let go of him. To satisfy his intrigue and fascination with medicine and still pursue his love and compassion for animals, a career in Veterinary Medicine ultimately became a sound and welcome choice for him.
He has received his doctorate in 1984 from the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cairo, Egypt and done post graduate work and training at the University of California at Davis. Licensed in the States of California and Florida since 1986, Dr. Doss has been practicing small animal medicine in the southern California area since 1986.
In summer of 1993, after much research and preparations, Dr. Doss opened a Veterinary practice in the San Diego area that was built from the ground up and had included top design and modern equipment.
That veterinary practice had received much attention on local and national levels, been on the local nightly news several times and had received a national award, “The practice of Excellence” award, given in July 1997. That award is given only once per month on a national level. Only after much investigation and scrutiny, months of monitoring and interviewing staff, clients and colleagues, that award is even considered. Reports of the Practice of Excellence award have also been published in major national veterinary journals.
Dr. Doss has also written articles that have been published in local and national veterinary journals.
He has practiced primarily in the greater San Diego area for many years and developed a wonderful reputation for the quality of care given to patients and clients alike.
He has been active in the Veterinary Community, local Veterinary associations, humane organizations and animal shelters.
It has been an incredible journey for him, tremendous growth, personal and professional.
He acknowledges and thanks his family and friends for the encouragement through it all. He thanks God for his God-given talent and gifts he received and for the grace, mercy that he is continually drawing from.
